Dr. Bentivegna is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon with over three decades of experience specializing in hand and microsurgery. He serves as Active Staff at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA, and Consulting Staff at Nantucket Cottage Hospital. Following his medical degree from New York Medical College, Dr. Bentivegna completed residencies and fellowships in general surgery, burn care, plastic surgery, and advanced hand/microsurgery at institutions including the University of Connecticut, Nassau County Medical Center, and the University of Utah under the mentorship of world-renowned surgeons.

About Dr. Bentivegna
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and an active member of leading professional societies, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, where he has held leadership roles such as President of the New England Hand Society (2021–2023). Widely published in peer-reviewed journals and a frequent presenter at national and international meetings, Dr. Bentivegna has also been a pioneer in minimally invasive and laser-assisted techniques, teaching courses and developing innovative approaches to hand, burn, and reconstructive surgery. In addition to his clinical and academic contributions, he remains dedicated to community service as a volunteer physician and educator on Cape Cod.
